HEALTHY HACK: ADD BEANS TO YOUR FAVORITE TEX-MEX DISHES!

My healthy habit for the 66-DAY CHALLENGE is enjoying beans several times a week!

One habit I am implementing to help me eat more beans is to add canned beans every time I have a Tex-Mex type of dish (and that's pretty often in my house)!

* Enjoying beans is an awesome healthy habit because you are adding plant protein + Fiber + plant compounds with antioxidant properties + key vitamins and minerals!

* Soybeans and kidney beans add some plant omega-3s into the equation too.

I often double the amount of beans in recipes. I like to make this chili, often make it with just 1/2 lb of beef, and with all the other ingredients, https://www.food.com/recipe/30-minute-chili-446919?ic1=suggestedAsset%7C30-minute%20chi . And while I have a lot of canned beans around, including the exact type you show above, if I have time and forethought, I like to cook from dried. This is my favorite way of cooking them - you can use the beans in other recipes, but I like to eat them as is, with the delicious broth, https://www.food.com/recipe/rich-savory-beans-542121
