I made homemade pickles for the first time last week and they turned out DELICIOUS! I’ve been munching on them all week. They’re the perfect addition to summer foods like (avocado)BLTs and hot dogs on the grill.
I used the NYT recipe which is simple and straightforward. The longer you keep them the more sour they get. So far, so good!
Any recommendations of what I should try next?

I love pickled jalapeños and red onion (just thinly slice both of them). You can even re-use the pickling liquid leftover in the jars and just throw them straight in there once you've finished eating your first batch!
