Desperately developing healthy habits

I joined a Healthy Balance Program about 2 years ago in the hopes of lowering my cholesterol levels and blood pressure, as well as lowering my A1C. I wanted to lose some weight caused by medication. I also wanted to be more active and just enjoy doing some joyful movements without having chest pains and shortness of breath. I have to admit I'm struggling. Lately, I found out that a high school friend suddenly died of heart problems. Diabetes, heart problems, and stroke also run in my family. So I really need to take this seriously. I'm trying to develop healthy habits by using SMART goals and this is one of the things I'm doing. I found a walking buddy but our walks have been inconsistent lately because of the holidays and rainy weather. I'm struggling to do meal planning and the meal prep that goes with it.  So here I am, looking for more support on my journey to a healthy lifestyle.

My SMART goal is:

1.  Use my FitOn app to complete workout challenges by doing 10 workouts a month.

2. Use the Vons Meal Planning app for meal planning.

First of all, welcome to the community! It is a great place for ideas, inspiration and support and accountability for other members. It sounds like you have some great goals and the community can certainly help with many of them. I'd also encourage you to check out @TheRecipeDoctor's recent posts, as she's kicked off a 66 day challenge to develop healthy habits, which has some amazing tips and tricks for sticking to your goals. Also @chocolate_rhapsody and @passthesauce always have great suggestions and recipes for healthy eating!

I think many of us are working to achieve healthier habits and improve well being through exercise. Glad to hear you have such well rounded goals and are using the SMART method of outlining those, you are off to a great start!
